How to store tomatoes

Tomatoes should be stored on a counter or pantry shelf, away from direct sunlight and not in the refrigerator. They should be kept at room temperature and allowed to ripen fully before use.

Overripe tomatoes can be stored in the refrigerator but should be used within a few days. If you have cut a tomato, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
