How to cook butternut squash

Butternut squash can be cooked in a variety of ways, including roasting, baking, sautéing, boiling, and pureeing. Here are some popular methods:

  1. Roasting: Cut the butternut squash in half, remove the seeds, then slice or cube it. Toss it with oil and seasonings of your choice, such as salt, pepper, and cinnamon. Roast in a preheated oven at 200C/400F for 20-30 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelised.

  2. Baking: Cut the butternut squash in half, remove the seeds, then slice or cube it. Place it on a baking sheet, season with salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you like, and bake in a preheated oven at 200C/400F for 20-30 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelised.

  3. Sautéing: Cut the butternut squash into small cubes, then sauté it in a pan with butter or oil for 5-7 minutes, or until tender. Season with salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you like.

  4. Boiling: Cut the butternut squash into small cubes and boil it in a pot of water for 10-15 minutes, or until tender. Drain and season with salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you like.

  5. Pureeing: Cut the butternut squash in half, remove the seeds, then bake, boil or steam it until tender. Then puree it in a food processor or blender with some butter, cream, or milk, and seasonings of your choice, such as salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
