What is celeriac and when is it in season?

Celeriac, also known as celery root, is a root vegetable that is a variety of celery. It has a rough, knobby exterior and a creamy white interior. Celeriac has a mild, celery-like flavor and a slightly nutty, earthy taste.

Celeriac is typically in season in the UK from late autumn to early spring, with peak season typically from October to February. However, thanks to modern farming techniques, celeriac can be available year-round.

Celeriac is a hardy vegetable that can be stored in the ground for a period after harvest, allowing it to be available for a longer period of time.
