A chestnut mushroom is the same mushroom as a white button, but it is a strain that grows just a bit browner instead of white, giving it a tan-coloured top. They have better flavour and texture than the plain white mushrooms so use in pies, tarts or fry with garlic!

These Chestnut Mushrooms are perfect, great quality, very tasty. I really enjoyed these, perfect un-cooked in a salad, and cooked with cream and garlic on toast. Yum

I've cooked these mushrooms in several ways. For example, in Chinese stir-fries and I've roasted them and blended them into a mushroom and cream cheese pate. However I've cooked them they have retained their great flavour. I can't get enough of them!
