Spinach can be eaten raw as the base of a salad, cooked as a vegetable dish, or combined with other ingredients as a side dish. An excellent source of vitamin C, folate, iron and beta-carotene.
Seasonality:
The British season starts in March and ends in July.
To cook:
To cook, stir-fry spinach leaves with bacon and garlic for a tasty side dish or shred and toss in a bechamel sauce, shredded chicken and cooked pasta.
To store:
Wash and store in an air-tight container in the fridge, add kitchen roll or alternative to your container to soak up any moisture.
